Terms of Use
Effective date: October 13, 2026
These terms are the rules for using Battleplan. You agree to them when you create your account, so please read them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
This agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Jared Freeman ("Battleplan", "we", "us"). They cover the Battleplan apps for iPhone and Android, the web app at getbattleplan.app/app, and this website. If you don't agree to them, please don't use Battleplan.
Who can use Battleplan
- You must be 18 or older to have a Battleplan account. When you set up your account you confirm that you are.
- Children don't get accounts. When a team has child players, their parents, guardians, and coaches use Battleplan for them (see Players and children).
- Each account is for one person. Don't share it or create one for someone else, except that team admins may add people by name and email as described below.
- You can't use Battleplan if we've disabled your account before, or if the law where you live doesn't allow it.
Your account
- Keep your sign-in secure: protect your password and the Google or Apple account you sign in with, and sign out on shared devices.
- Use your real name, or a name your teammates will recognize, and keep your email address current so you get setup links and security notices.
- You're responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else got in, sign out of all devices in Settings, change your password, and email us.
- If a team admin added you, your account was created with your name and email so the team can include you before you sign in. You agree to these terms when you set it up. If you didn't want it, ask us to delete it.
Your content
- You own what you post: your messages, photos, polls, events, documents, and everything else you share ("your content").
- Permission to run the service: you give Battleplan a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, back up, resize, and display your content, and to send it to the members of the teams you share it with, only to run and improve Battleplan. We don't use your content for anything else, and we don't sell it.
- How long the permission lasts: until your content is deleted, plus the up to 7 days it takes to leave our backups. When you delete your account, your past messages and documents stay with your teams, shown from "Deleted user", so the license continues for them until you, a team admin, or the team's deletion removes them. Delete anything you want gone before you delete your account (see Delete your account).
- Your responsibility: only share content you have the right to share. If a photo shows other people, make sure they (or, for a child, a parent or guardian) are fine with your team seeing it.
- Others can see it: your teammates can read, save, and screenshot what you share. We can't control what they do with it outside Battleplan.
- Feedback: if you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.
What's not allowed
Battleplan has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Don't use Battleplan to post, share, or do any of the following:
- harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation, including toward players, coaches, parents, or officials;
- hate speech, or attacks on people for their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or age;
- sexual content, nudity, or graphic violence;
- anything that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers a child. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and to law enforcement;
- other people's private information (such as home addresses, phone numbers, or a child's school) without their permission;
- spam, scams, chain messages, or unwanted advertising, including adding or inviting people who didn't ask to join;
- impersonating someone else or misrepresenting who you are;
- content that infringes someone's copyright, trademark, or other rights;
- anything illegal, or promoting illegal activity, self-harm, or violence;
- malware, or attempts to break into, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or get around the limits and security of Battleplan or another person's account;
- using Battleplan to build a competing product, or using automated tools to access it.
Reports and moderation
- Anyone can report a message, document, or person in the app. Reports go to the team's admins and to Battleplan. The person you report is never told who reported them.
- Team admins can delete content and remove members in their own team.
- The people who run Battleplan ("super admins") can access team content to review reports and to help with support. We aim to act on every report within 24 hours.
- If we decide something breaks these terms, we may remove it, disable the account that posted it, or suspend or delete the team. We decide based on the report, the content, and the account's history, and we may act without warning when someone's safety is at risk.
- You can block anyone to hide their messages and stop their notifications.
- If you think we got a decision wrong, email support@getbattleplan.app and a person will look at it again.
- To tell us that something on Battleplan infringes your copyright, email support@getbattleplan.app with the work, where it appears, and your contact details.
We're not required to review content before it's posted, and we aren't responsible for what users post. But we do act on what we learn about.
Teams and team admins
- Anyone with a verified email can create a team and becomes its owner. Every team has exactly one owner, who can make other members admins.
- Owners and admins are responsible for running their team in line with these terms: keeping the roster accurate, removing content and members that break the rules, and acting on reports in their team.
- Add or invite only people who expect to hear from your team. When you add someone by email, Battleplan sends them a setup email on your team's behalf.
- Admins never see or set anyone's password. They can only send setup and password-reset emails.
- The owner can transfer ownership to another member, and archive or delete the team. Deleting a team permanently erases its chat, schedule, documents, photos, and roster for everyone.
- If an owner deletes their account without picking a new owner, the team passes to its longest-serving admin, or else its longest-serving member. A team left with nobody is archived.
- Teams are separate from any league, club, or school, and Battleplan isn't responsible for a team's decisions, schedule, or activities.
Players and children
- Every team has a roster of players. Any member can add a player, and a team admin approves it. For each player, the team sees only their name, jersey number, and position. Optional details (date of birth, emergency contacts, medical notes, and notes) are for the team's admins and the player's linked people only.
- Enter a player's details, especially medical notes, only if you're the player, their parent or guardian, or a team admin with the family's permission, and keep them accurate and limited to what coaches need.
- Add or claim a player only if you're that player, the player's parent or guardian, or a coach or team admin acting with the player's knowledge (for a child, with their parents' and guardians' knowledge). Link yourself as the player ("I am this player") only if you are that player.
- Players whose records others manage may be children. Adults are responsible for the player information they enter and for the photos they share. Don't share a photo of someone else's child without their parent's or guardian's permission.
- A player, or a child player's parent or guardian, can ask a team admin, or email us, to correct or remove the player's record.
A free service
- Battleplan is free, with no ads. If we ever add ads or paid features, we'll update these terms and the Privacy Policy and tell you first.
- Each team has a storage limit for its photos and files (500 MB by default) and each file can be up to 10 MB. Admins can free space in the team's Media. There are also limits on things like how many invites you can send a day.
- We may add, change, or remove features and limits. If a change takes away something important, we'll try to tell you ahead of time.
- We work to keep Battleplan running, but it may sometimes be unavailable, slow, or lose a notification. Don't rely on it for emergencies or anything safety-critical, and keep your own copies of documents you can't afford to lose.
Other services and app stores
- If you sign in with Google or Apple, their terms also apply to that account. Links your teammates share may lead to other websites, which we don't control.
- If you got Battleplan from Apple's App Store or Google Play, that store's terms also apply. These terms are between you and Battleplan, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google aren't responsible for Battleplan, its content, support, or any claims about it.
- If you use Battleplan on an Apple device, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Ending your use
- You can leave a team or delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or disable your account, or suspend or delete a team, if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if it's needed to protect other people or Battleplan. When it's safe to, we'll tell you why. A disabled account can't sign in; you can email support about it.
- If we ever shut Battleplan down, we'll give at least 30 days' notice where we can, so you can save what you need.
- The sections on your content's license (for content that stays after you leave), no warranty, limitation of liability, governing law, and the fine print continue after your use ends.
No warranty
Battleplan is provided free, "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and we don't promise that Battleplan will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that content will never be lost. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- Battleplan won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Battleplan or from content or conduct of other users, even if we were told they were possible.
- Our total liability for any claim about Battleplan is limited to US $50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud or gross negligence where those limits aren't allowed.
If your content or your breach of these terms causes a claim against Battleplan, you'll be responsible for the reasonable costs of that claim, to the extent the law allows.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana and of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about Battleplan will be decided only in the state or federal courts located in Louisiana, and you and we agree to those courts' jurisdiction. Before going to court, please email us so we can try to sort it out informally. If you live somewhere whose laws give you the right to bring a claim in your own courts, nothing here takes that away.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date, and if a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Battleplan after that, you accept the new terms. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
The fine print
- These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Battleplan about the service.
- If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce a part of these terms right away, we can still enforce it later.
- You can't transfer these terms to someone else. We may transfer them to a new owner of Battleplan (including a company formed by its current owner), and we'll tell you if we do.
- We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
