Delete your Battleplan account
You can delete your account yourself in the app at any time, or ask us to do it by email.
In the app
- Open Battleplan on your phone, or in your browser, and sign in.
- Tap your picture in the top corner, then Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Read what will happen, confirm, and sign in again to prove it's you.
If you own a team, it passes to someone else when your account is deleted (see below). To pick the new owner yourself, transfer ownership in the team's settings first.
By email
If you can't get into the app, email support@getbattleplan.app with the subject "Delete my account". Send it from the email address on your Battleplan account so we can tell it's you; if you can't, we'll ask you to confirm another way. We'll reply to confirm before we delete anything, and again when it's done.
What happens when you delete your account
- Deleted: your profile (name, photo, contact email, and preferences), your sign-in methods, your team memberships, your RSVPs for upcoming events, your notifications, your list of blocked people, your requests to be linked to a player, and players you added that a team admin hasn't approved yet.
- Teams you own pass to the team's longest-serving admin, otherwise its longest-serving member, unless you transfer ownership first. A team with nobody else on it is archived.
- Players: your links to players end, whether you were linked as the player yourself or as a parent or guardian. The players stay on the roster, and a player left with no one linked stays for the team's admins to manage.
- Your past messages, photos, and the documents you shared stay with your teams so the conversation still makes sense, but they're shown from "Deleted user" instead of your name and photo. If you want any of them gone too, delete them in the app before you delete your account, or ask a team admin.
- Also kept as part of a team's history: your answers to past events, your poll votes, and your reactions.
- Kept for safety and records: reports you filed or that were filed about you stay with the team for its admins, and records of admin actions are kept for 1 year.
- Timing: deleted data is removed from our database right away, and from our backups within 7 days.
Deleting your account can't be undone. If you only want to leave one team, open that team's menu (⋯) and choose Leave team instead.
Deleting less than your whole account
- A message or document: delete it in the app. Its text and files are erased, and a deleted message leaves only a "This message was deleted" note. If it was reported, the open report keeps a copy of its text or name until the report is resolved.
- A player record, yours or your child's: the team's admins and the members linked to the player can change its name, number, position, and details (date of birth, emergency contacts, medical notes, and notes), and a team admin can remove the player, which deletes its details too. You can also email privacy@getbattleplan.app and we'll remove it.
- A whole team: the team's owner can delete it in the team's settings. That erases its chat, schedule, documents, photos, and roster for everyone.
- A copy first: to get a copy of your data before you delete it, email privacy@getbattleplan.app.
